“Be still, and know that I am God...” (Psalm 46:10)
Just be still.
Let the power and presence of God register on your heart a while. Let it sink in for just a moment. That brief glimpse needs to be etched into our consciousness. What we have seen, as we beheld our God, is too important to lose in the shuffle of our overly busy lives.
When we see a starry sky or feel a summer breeze, we stop and take it in; we want to hold on to that moment. We want to remember the wonder that captures our imagination. We want it to be imprinted upon our senses and our memory. How much more will the glory and goodness of our God captivate our hearts and leave its indelible impression upon us, if we let it?
There is no getting around it, if we want to become acquainted with someone we have to take the necessary time with them. We have to give them a chance to open their hearts to us. We can’t do all the talking; we have to be still. Take the time now to know God.
As you detach yourself from all of the hustle and bustle of your life, let your mind become quiet before God. Close your eyes, and as you feel the rays of the sun across on a summer day, ask God to fill you with the warmth of His presence. Tell Him how much you value His visit and company and wait for Him.

"You are God; You are God; You are God; You are God; You are God; You are God......."
As I repeat this out loud to Him, over and over, it grows and expands in every direction. Every time I say it, a new attribute of God comes to mind. This could never be exhausted. He is ALL I need! I know that in this moment & wish I could freeze time and stay here forever.
We need to stop every once in a while and remind ourselves to just 'stop and smell our God'! For the smell of roses is sweet, but NOTHING compares to the fragrance of my God!
Psalm 139:17, 18
"How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. When I awake, I am still with You."
Sometimes I am so concerned with bombarding the Lord with my thoughts for the day that I forget to stop and listen to His. After reading this post, my prayer this morning was, "God, what's on your mind today?"
When I am overwhelmed in my mind, I meditate on Psalms 94:19 "In the multitude of thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soul."
When you enjoy or are benefited by something, you desire to share it with others.
This morning in prayer we expressed a fervent desire for each member of the Body to receive of the blessing God is pouring out on us. He wants to wet us with the dew of heaven, but we're staying inside. He wants us to jump into the flowing river, but we remain on the banks of the river. Jump into the flow is the message!
We prayed that God would wake us out of our deep coma-like sleep, that He would send forth the words that would light the fuse and enlighten our hearts to what He is doing. Awake, arise, and Christ will give you light (Ephesians 5:14)
Blessings
As I sat in the stillness of His presence today, Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." When we fully grasp that our Lord truly has the whole world in His hands, we can find rest in the midst of chaos. We experience true freedom in the midst of our trials - peace, joy, contentment, knowing that the God of all creation, who knows the beginning from the end has the world (including every situation in our lives) in His hands.
I remember a familiar quote, that "everything that happens to a child of God is father - filtered"
I pictured God holding the earth as it turned, with people running here and there (which seemed to represent anxiousness, worry, discontentment, ect..), but God's hand was HUGE, and as He "held" the world - even as everything in it was moving, His hand was perfectly still...the words that came to mind were, "Be still, my child."
