The other night, during my "20-minute tease" at Barnes & Noble, I picked up the first book that caught my eye - 'Jesus Freaks II Revolutionaries' by DC Talk. The first line I read was this...
"Jesus came to comfort the afflicted, but He also came to afflict the comfortable."
I immediately thought of Pastor Terry's message on Sunday, 'Styrofoam Watchmen'. (If you missed it, you can listen to it HERE.) I continued to read...
"Throughout history, true followers of Christ, have been revolutionaries. As the trends of society have been dictated by the herd mentality, these men and women of God have stood up and said, "Hey, wait a minute. That's not right!" They reached our their hands to people the rest of the world walked by without a glance, they spoke out when shutting up would have saved their lives, they distributed bibles when others were passing out ammunition, they took God places other people called "God-forsaken," they picked up their crosses and followed Christ when others cried, "Lord, Lord," but did nothing. And for this they were called "Freaks."
...
"those who know the truth can't help but stand up for Him and tell others about Him"
Proverbs 1:32
For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them

Awesome post Jaimie. I'm love Paul Washer. He preaches a much needed message for today's generation
Styrofoam soldiers neither see, hear nor speak. Neither can they fight! They are push overs!
Now is the time to be watchmen. Now is the time to fight. Now is the time to prepare the way of the Lord!
